Do You Do Same-Day Edits?

We pour hours into organizing, color correcting, color grading, editing, and sound mixing our final films. To try to accomplish these things in a matter of minutes or (at most) an hour or two would not only be a disservice to you our clients, it would result in a film that is lackluster and not representative of your day or what we wish to communicate about it.

And besides, how can you relive something that's happening right now? Do you really need to watch a recap of something that happened 45 minutes ago? We think it's much better to stay in the moment and enjoy yourself, allow for some time to pass, and then re-experience the day all over again when the film is ready.

How Long Will My Films Be?

No two weddings are the same, nor are two wedding films. Typically, Love Story films range between three and eight minutes, while our longer-form Documentary films can vary wildly. And your Instagram Teaser will be 60 seconds or less.

Your Wedding Film will be a creative edit telling the story of your love and your day. This is the film that will be uniquely you, and they are our favorites to create.

Your Documentary Film will be a more straightforward account of the events that transpired on your wedding day and include the ceremony in full, as well as the events of the reception (all the toasts and speeches given, special dances (Father-Daughter, Mother-Son, etc.), traditions like the garter and bouquet toss, cake cutting, and the like). As a result, the Documentary film can range anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours (or more!), depending on the lengths of your ceremony and reception.

We Want to Work With You! What's the Next Step?

Yay! We're so excited! The next step would be to get in touch with us and let us know! We'll figure out a good time to get together and have a FaceTime or Skype meeting and get to know each other a little better, talk about your story, and answer any and every other question you may have.

From there we'll draw up a contract, ask for a 50% deposit to secure your date, and we're good to go!

Will I Get a Blu-Ray or a DVD of My Wedding Films?

We'll be honest with you: we hate physical media! (Except for albums on vinyl, of course.)  We especially detest Blu-Rays and DVDs. They're fragile, susceptible to scratches and fingerprints, and easily lost.

That's why we deliver all of our films on both a digital platform (Vimeo, for instance) where you can watch, share, and download your films and via a USB drive that you can easily back-up or sync to your smartphone, tablet, TV, whatever!

I'm Having a Very Traditional Wedding. Will You Film It?

We got into wedding filmmaking because we were inspired by love: the possibilities, the energy,  the passion. We aim to work with couples who are similarly inspired by these things and who want to put them at the forefront of their day. Couples who are authentic and adventurous. Couples who are open to being vulnerable and true. If that's you, great!

Keep in mind that just because you're planning on having a practical ceremony and reception with 100 or more of your closest friends doesn't mean we can't work together! We simply think that your love and your story is bigger than your choice of flowers or centerpieces, or what color scheme will be used. What's important to us is your unique story and your unbreakable bond, and that is what we want to focus on.

You're Out of My Price Range. Can We Still Work Together?

We pride ourselves on our unique pricing structure. We have only one, all-inclusive package, allowing every couple we work with to receive everything we offer. We don't offer additional add-ons, nor do we up-charge for things like using a drone. Heck, we don't even charge a travel fee if you're getting married in the continental United States!

Additionally, the post-production process involved in creating cinematic wedding films is quite intensive and requires many hours of organizing, color correcting, color grading, editing, and sound mixing.

That being said, we believe that our prices are fair and proportionate to our quality of work. If we're out of your budget, feel free to get in touch with us and we'd be happy to give some recommendations on filmmakers who fall within your budgetary restraints.

Will I Receive the Raw Footage From the Day?

There is a reason some things land on the cutting room floor. Would your favorite movie be the same if it had included all of the bad takes and mistakes? Of course not. That's why we keep that stuff to ourselves and deliver only the best of the best to you.

We pour hours into editing, color correcting, color grading, and sound mixing your films, so rest assured that the final products will be of the highest quality. Besides, you don't really want B-roll of Steve picking his nose or Melissa applying chapstick, do you?  It's better this way, trust us.

Will You Bring A Drone to My Wedding?

Yes, of course! Part of crafting cinematic wedding films means including majestic and epic shots only  possible by shooting with a drone.

There is no extra charge for using the drone, but keep in mind that we can't guarantee that we will always be able to use it. Some things that prevent us from shooting with the drone include being too close to an airport (even a small, regional one), electromagnetic interference from nearby metal structures or radio transmitters, or simply unsafe weather conditions.

When it comes to using a drone, safety is always our first priority, but rest assured, we're always excited to shoot with it, and we bust it out any chance we get!

Do You Shoot Elopements?

Absolutely! Elopements are some of our favorite events to shoot as they allow us to operate at our most creative level and get up close and personal with the bride and groom. Sometimes getting all of the formalities out of the way (the decor, the flowers, the centerpieces, etc.) can allow you to focus on the most important thing: your love. Elopements can be some of the most vulnerable, honest, and touching events to film.

We also love adventure, so we're always down to hike, boat, swim, climb, dive, or anything else required to reach that magical location for you to share your vows.

Will You Travel to Me?

Absolutely, positively, without a doubt! We love to travel and experience new parts of the country and the world. We love it so much that if it's within the continental United States, we don't even charge for it! Did we mention we love to travel?

And if you're planning on getting married in another country, that's great too! We've brought our cameras all over the world, including the Dominican Republic, Iceland, and South Africa. Just get in touch and we'll work out a custom quote that includes international travel.

Do You Work Well With Photographers?

Yes! We don't view cinematography versus photography as a competition, but rather as two sides of the same coin. At the end of the day, we're both trying to arrive at the same place: capturing your love and your story.

Secondly, we're all creative people, and we're at our best when we're working together and feeding off of each other's ideas. For us, communication with the photography team is key, and we work hard to ensure that we all get what we need and everyone comes away happy (especially you!).

Who Will Be Filming My Wedding?

Melissa and Steve! We are a husband-and-wife team and we shoot and edit every wedding film ourselves. We feel honored that you would consider allowing us to be part of one of the greatest, most memorable days of your life, and we consider that trust to be sacred. We wouldn't dream of outsourcing our work to other shooters or editors! (And yes, in case you were wondering, we did get married at Six Flags.)

How Long Will It Take to Receive Our Films?

Several factors can influence the turnaround time of your films, our current workload and the time of year being the most significant. Generally, we like to keep our delivery date for every film to sixteen weeks or less, including both the Love Story and the Documentary films.

You can expect to receive your Instagram teaser within 72 hours of your wedding, so you can make everyone jealous ASAP.

How Did You Get Started in the Wedding Industry?

Steve had always had an interest in filmmaking ever since his Dad bought a Canon 5D Mark II and the DSLR video revolution began. From that point on, he spent time working on music videos, short films, and independent projects for friends and clients. Melissa had a background in production and was working for a high-profile television production company in Los Angeles.

After we got married, and were blown away by our wedding film (shot and edited by the great Brian Gaadt), we knew we wanted to combine our creative forces and help capture the stories of other couples. Thus, The Neskes was born, and since then, we've had the pleasure of shooting over 120 weddings (and counting!).
